Coverings 2011 is coming up quickly March 14th-17th at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas.

This will be the first time in Coverings long history for the show to be featured on the West side of the Nation. Along with the show comes industry meetings such as, the American National Standards Institutes - ANSI A108 committee who's members will be discussing, among other topics, the new glass tile manufacturing standard proposal and a new "unmounted" glass tile installation standard proposal for installing glass tile in larger sizes that are not mounted or bonded to the back, front or side of the tile.

Another great attribute of the show are the seminars; this year David Fatula and Brian Fitzpatrick will be showing the new Tile Council of North America's recommendation for pool tile installation P602. This installation process was originally developed by Scott Fleming for Oceanside Glasstile as a customer specification to install the largest all glass tile pool in California at the Pelican Hill Resort in NewPort. Wow what a fun group!

The National Plasters Council (NPC) and Glass Tile Consultants worked together to provide the NPC members a 2 hour presentation on remodeling and new pool tile installation at the Ritz Carlton Resort in Amelia Island, Florida.

Thanks to the Tile Council of North America, Glass Tile Consultants was able to share the new P602 pool tile installation recommendations with the NPC members who were delighted to see the tile industry is making moves to include information that will safe guard all materials in pool environments, such as NPCs new laminated Start Up & Maintenance cards.

The NPCs new Start Up & Maintenance Cards not only give information on how to fill and start up a new or remodeled pool, it also features the Langlier Index process for evaluating pool water quality. Water quality in pools is the biggest issue by far when it comes to pool tile problems so having this new system published in both industries should lead to longer lasting tile and plaster installations making both of our industries more prosperous.

Glass Tile Consultants receives confirmation from Tile Council of North America (TCNA) of gaining membership to American National Standards Institute's ASC 108 committee.

This committee, comprised of some of the tile industries top professionals, is the largest single voice in helping consumers, architects, designers and contractors understand tile products, materials and installation methods for installing ceramic, porcelain, quarry and glass tile.
